Wassit is a marketplace that connects brands with content creators established in Morocco. The platform facilitates the booking of standardised promotional services, the holding of funds in escrow and the tracking of deliverables.
Wassit acts solely as a technical intermediary. The promotional service itself is performed by the creator, who remains solely responsible for it in editorial and tax matters.
Registration is open to persons of legal age and to duly incorporated companies. “Brand” accounts must provide a valid 15-digit ICE (Identifiant Commun de l'Entreprise, the Moroccan business identifier).
Wassit may request proof of identity (CIN, the Moroccan national identity card) or of legal existence in order to combat fraud and identity theft.
An order is formed when the brand confirms a package, submits its brief and completes payment. The creator then has the delivery time stated on the package in which to deliver.
The brand may request revisions within the limits set out in the package. Acceptance of the deliverables triggers the release of the funds.
Prices are displayed in Moroccan dirhams (MAD). The platform commission is charged on each completed transaction and its rate is shown before the order is confirmed.
The VAT applicable in Morocco (TVA, 20% at the standard rate) is handled in accordance with the regulations in force. Each party remains responsible for its own filing obligations with the DGI (the Moroccan tax authority).
Funds paid by the brand are held in escrow until the deliverables are approved. This mechanism gives both parties assurance: the creator knows the funds exist, and the brand knows payment is released only after performance.
In the absence of approval or of a dispute within the time limit provided, the order may be closed automatically in accordance with the rules displayed on the order.
Either party may refer any disagreement to Wassit's mediation service, which reviews the material submitted (brief, correspondence, deliverables) and proposes an outcome: approval, revision, or partial or full refund.
This mediation does not deprive either party of its right to bring legal proceedings.
The creator undertakes to produce original content, to comply with the brief and to disclose the commercial nature of the publication in accordance with accepted practice and with the advertising regulations in force.
Unless the package stipulates otherwise, the creator retains ownership of their content and grants the brand a right of use limited to the campaign, within the agreed scope and for the agreed duration.
Any reuse beyond that scope (paid advertising, out-of-home display, republication) must be the subject of a separate agreement.
Wassit provides the platform on an “as is” basis and uses reasonable efforts to keep it available. Wassit does not guarantee the commercial results of a campaign, which depend on factors outside the platform.
Either party may close its account at any time, subject to the completion of orders in progress. Wassit may suspend an account in the event of a breach of these terms.
These terms are governed by Moroccan law. Failing an amicable settlement, any dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the competent Moroccan courts.
